The Petals, an Alternative Rock band from Pittsburgh, PA, return with their latest EP, Centurion. Spanning four distinct yet connected tracks, the 12-minute EP blends danceable synths, intimate vocals, and a mix of acoustic and electric rhythms, offering a vibrant evolution of the band’s sound. Trading their previously somber tones for colorful modern textures, Centurion showcases sharp drum rhythms, hazy synths, and layered guitars—all self-produced shortly after their August 2023 tour.
The EP opens with "Roofwalker," a firework display of programmed synths and processed vocals, and moves through "Red Planet’s" mix of cavernous guitars and shiny, synthetic soundscapes. The title track, Centurion, shifts gears with its memorable chorus and relaxed energy before "Another Rover" concludes the set with anthemic choruses and a culmination of the EP's tones.
Perfect for nighttime drives, solo listening, or gatherings around a fire pit, Centurion is available on all major streaming platforms. A limited run of cassette tapes featuring artwork by band member
Daniel Grushecky will also be available through the band’s merch store.
Looking ahead, The Petals are planning another run of shows for late spring or early summer. Follow them online for updates and tour dates.
